Illustration and Surface Pattern Design
Hello, I’m Eloise. I was obsessed with painting and drawing from a very early age and only ever wanted to be an artist when I grew up. After finishing a Fine Art degree, I decided I needed a more practical application of those skills and discovered the wonderful world of Textile Design. I’ve now been working as a Textile Designer and Illustrator for more than a decade and still love it. I work from a home studio in the Blue Mountains.

Design Philosophy
I’m inspired by Australian flora and fauna. All my designs start with a painting or drawing and are then converted to a digital file to create repeats and colour variations. I hope you find something you love in my collection.

"Australian Wildflower"
This hand drawn pattern on a warm, light background, features a range of exotic wildflowers including Kangaroo Paw, Coral Pea, Jasmine, Morning Glory and Sun Orchids - all native to the Australian bush.

This fabric by Eloise Short, features hand painted Firetail Finch birds along with Flannel Flowers, Kangaroo Paw flowers, Sturt's Desert Pea and Christmas Bells, all native to Australia.
