How did your journey with Yiume begin?
It started quite simply—I bought one shirt for myself because I loved the unique designs. Over time, my son noticed them and grew curious. When I explained the stories behind the koi and ukiyo-e shirts, he got hooked as well. Suddenly, Yiume wasn’t just “my thing” anymore—it became something we could share as father and son.
How many Yiume shirts are in your family’s collection now?
I personally own 27, and my son has started his own collection with 5 shirts. What’s special is that some shirts we both own—we call them our “matching memories.”
Which shirts mean the most to you, and why?
For me, it’s the Koi Harmony. It was the first shirt I bought for both myself and my son. He wore it to his high school graduation, and I wore mine proudly sitting in the audience. That moment made me realize Yiume shirts are more than clothes—they’re milestones in our lives.
Could you share a bit about your profession?
I’ve worked in architecture for over 25 years. Design and structure are part of my everyday thinking. Maybe that’s why Yiume appealed to me—the shirts combine art with balance, much like buildings do. It felt natural to bring that passion into my wardrobe.
Do you plan to keep passing Yiume down in your family?
Absolutely. I hope my son keeps his collection and maybe one day shares it with his kids. A Yiume shirt can be more than fabric—it can carry memory, art, and family history.
