A Thursday office tradition led me to YIUME—and to a collection that brings together my love of art, color, and clothes I enjoy wearing.
Animal Print Thursday: How It All Began
I work as a Navy civilian, supporting financial and program management. Our office has an “animal print Thursday” tradition, and fish and insects count, too. I was getting bored with the cheetah, leopard, and snake prints I kept finding in women’s clothing. Then a YIUME advertisement caught my attention, and I was amazed by the variety of prints. I ordered a couple of items and was just as impressed by the quality. I love the 100% cotton shirts: the prints on mine have held up beautifully through repeated washing, and they need only a little touch-up with an iron.
Room to Move: Prints at Work
Alongside my Navy civilian work, I have a Rolfing™ Structural Integration bodywork practice, which I plan to make my main vocation. I’m passionate about helping people feel freer in their bodies. The shirts allow me to look professional while giving my arms and shoulders the movement my work requires. Their upbeat, positive prints make them a pleasure to wear, and my clients love them, too.
"I love art and vibrant colors."
I look forward to YIUME emails and seeing what new art is available on fabric. Bright colors, playful patterns, cats, and sea creatures are the prints I’m most drawn to. I love art and vibrant colors, and I make functional pottery. As I look ahead to retirement from my Navy civilian role, I hope to explore painting as well.
